If you're not sure where to start, here are a few ways to help you get started. Connect with your faith community. Talk to a chaplain or someone you trust. To maintain your spiritual health, participate in regular devotional practices, such as prayer and meditation.

Be aware of your daily activities and keep in touch with your body, your emotions and your sense of connection with all beings. Overcome your fears and ambitions by doing good work for others and empathising their concerns. Which means that, over time, listening to the needs of your higher self will become natural for you, as will spiritual self-care. One of my favorite ways to use the tarot or the oracle for spiritual self-care is to draw out one card a day to see what my soul needs to hear.

This is why I say that spiritual self-care can mean whatever is necessary for you, because only you have an inner knowledge about what your higher self needs. Whereas physical self-care focuses on caring for the body and mental self-care is directed at caring for the mind, spiritual self-care focuses on caring for the soul. The reason journaling is so amazing for spiritual self-care is that it allows you to process your emotions and release energies that may be holding you back. I feel that refining your spiritual self-care practice requires first understanding what spiritual self-care really is.

But don't worry, because before you reach this level of intuition (you'll do it with practice), there are some universal ideas about spiritual self-care that can definitely help you take care of your soul. Because Tai Chi is another practice based on conscious movement that is also incredible for spiritual self-care. And the best part is that these spiritual self-care activities in and of themselves will allow you to develop your intuition the more you practice them. This means that, in simple terms, spiritual self-care activities are those that aim to care for and replenish our soul to ensure that this part of us is healthy and well.

While you may think that learning and expanding your knowledge is an act of mental self-care (and it can be), I also think that this is one of the key aspects of caring for the soul. Solitude is as important to the health of the soul as community is, and that's why practicing intentional silence is one of my favorite ideas of spiritual self-care. The tarot and, more recently, the reading of the Oracle cards have been part of my spiritual self-care practice for quite some time. And there you have it, those are some of my favorite spiritual self-care activities to deepen your connection with your spiritual self and fill your cup.
